What are heads and staves?

Not too long ago, the heads (top and bottom lids) and staves (sides of the barrels) that we work with held Tennessee whiskey and Kentucky bourbon…brands like Maker’s Mark and Jack Daniels.  After a few years of use, the barrels are “retired”.  That’s where we come in.  The heads and staves are cleaned, sanded, and secured for their next life in your home, but we try to leave some of the character from their past lives – including the char on the inside that gave the whiskey or bourbon its smoky flavor. Each piece is completely unique and may have distillery stamps, scars, and stains to let you know its authentic.
